Sconset Cottage
This creation of a classic windswept cottage from the high ground of “Siasconset” is the 2nd in our Claire Murray Collectable Birdhouse series to feature architecture from the beloved island of Nantucket. The Claire Murray Collectable Bird house has been handcrafted of kiln-dried hardwood, exterior grade ply-board, and pine shingles. The finish is completed with a non-toxic, oil-based paint. Attention to detail has been paid in the design and creation of the window panes, chimney bricks, and white picket fence. This gray bird house has bright pink and white trim with a white picket fence surrounding the bird house. The bird house rests on a moss green base and features two nesting compartments each with a 1.25 diameter entrance. Once left outside, this bird house will weather, yet provide years of enjoyment. Seasonal cleanouts are easily accomplished by simply removing the back panel of the bird house. This house may be fastened to any post through the two, pre-drilled holes in the base. Rubber pads on each corner of the base permit the bird house to rest on a flat surface, either indoors or outdoors. Entice birds to roost in style in your garden with the Claire Murray Sconset Cottage Bird House. Note: Should you want to preserve the finish (paint), you should select a polyurethane product that is recommended for marine use (UV Rated) that will not turn the white paint yellow. You should expect that once left outside, the product will weather and require refinishing. Openings: 1.25 dia.
